About Me
My name is Sarah Holmgren and I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy based in Ventura, California. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a minor in Biology at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and obtained my Doctorate in Physical Therapy with distinction from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff.
After my schooling, my first position was in an outpatient orthopedic setting in Denver, Colorado as a clinic director and physical therapist. Throughout my time in Denver, I completed multiple courses in manual therapy for the spine, craniofacial treatment, and functional dry needling. I moved to Ventura in 2020 and began working for Ventura Orthopedics in 2021 where I obtained my credentialing in ASTYM. I am currently partnered with The Movement Ventura to bring physical therapy services to additional members of my community.
A proponent of holistic health and wellness, my treatment approach involves empowering my patients through education in conjunction with manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, therapeutic exercise, and functional activity. I believe in helping individuals learn the proper tools to take ownership of their rehabilitation process, regain optimal function, and reach their specific and personal goals.
In my spare time, I love to cook and bake for anyone who is willing to be the recipient, attend concerts, hike, cycle, travel to new places, play volleyball and tennis, relax at the beach, and spend time with my family and friends. And of course, I love to MOVE!
